

Fostering Community Spirit & Cultural Diversity – The Traditional New Year Celebration.

HYDERABAD, MARCH 28, 2025: Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Festival, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at Sister Nivedita, The Play School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, on Friday.
The festival of Ugadi also welcomes the spring season when nature seems to be immersed in the festive mood and new leaves and new buds, along with the fresh breeze of spring manifold Ugadi spirit.
Embracing the sweetness of tradition, the zest of a new beginning, and the spice of celebration,Sister Nivedita, The Play School, Ameerpet, welcomed the Telugu New Year, Ugadi, with great joy and splendour. The school was embellished with mango leaves and flowers. The tiny tots adorned themselves in their traditional attire; they celebrated heritage and embraced the values of unity and togetherness that lie at the heart of this cherished festival.
The programme began with a song, and they learned about the making of Ugadi pachadi, symbolizing the six tastes—sweet, sour, bitter, tangy, and spicy. These beautifully conveyed flavours of life enrich young minds with timeless wisdom.
Furthermore, the little ones showcased a dance, portraying the rich cultural heritage of Telugu traditions. Overall, the Ugadi celebrations in the Play School hold profound significance in nurturing a sense of belonging, pride, and respect for cultural diversity.
The Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, conveyed Vishwavasu Telugu New Year wishes to everyone and emphasized the importance of such festivities in fostering cultural appreciation, creativity, and community spirit among students.
The Chairman of the school, Dr Sudhakar Rao Polsani, and the Correspondent of the school, Hari Hara Prasad, conveyed their Ugadi wishes to parents, students, and teachers. Events like the Ugadi celebration bring together students from diverse backgrounds and communities, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity within the school community.
