PEDDAPALLI, APRIL 08, 2024: Ugadi, the Telugu New Year festival, was celebrated with devotion and great euphoria at Sacred Heart High School, Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district on Monday.
The teachers accorded a traditional ‘purnakumbam’ welcome to School Parish priest Rev.Father Rayappa Reddy, Principal Sister Joshna and Primary incharge Sister Inna. They conveyed their wishes on the joyous occasion and praised the teachers for conducting the ‘Ugadi celebrations’ in the school and explaining its importance. The teachers explained the medicinal qualities of ‘Ugadi’ pachhadi, which is made with juice of tamarind, raw mango, coconut, neem leaves, salt, chilli powder and other ingredients.
The teachers participated in ‘kavi sammelan’ by rendering poems on the Ugadi festival and later they read out almanac (panchangam) of Telugu New Year followed by Vedha Shastra Ashirvachanam by Telugu pundits. The teachers Padmaja, Sandhya Rani, Thirumala, Swapna, Padma, Aliveni Swetha and Usha Rani and others also present.
