TTD gearing up to tackle summer rush by reducing VIP break, Srivani, Tourism quota darshans and virtual sevas

TIRUMALA, MARCH 02, 2024: In the wake of pilgrims rush during the summer season from April to July, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is taking several initiatives to ensure all convenience to devotees visiting the Tirumala the summer vacation.

Interacting with the devotees during the monthly Dial Your EO programme at Tirumala on Saturday, TTD Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy said that the TTD has decided to reduce VIP break, Srivani, tourism quota, virtual Sevas enabling common devotees to tackle additional pilgrims rush.

TTD has taken steps to issue 85% of 7500 rooms available at Tirumala (adequate for 45,000 persons) to common devotees only. Devotees are also advised to stay at Tirupati as more accommodation could not be provided in Tirumala, he stated.

Briefing devotees about the programmes that were held in the last one month and also the upcoming events, Mr Dharma Reddy said Radhasapthami was observed in a grand manner where lakhs witnessed Saptha Vahana Sevas and appreciated the Annaprasadam, milk, water distribution, shelter facilities provided by TTD.

On the lines of Tirumala and Tiruchanoor, TTD has launched Nitya Annaprasadam services from February 29 onwards at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati.

Sri Padmavati Children’s Heart Centre set a record of 12 heart transplants and 2485 heart operations in the last two years. From March 1 onwards cashless medical services have been launched in SVIMS for fever, vomitings, cold, cough etc. also besides super specialties like Gynaecology, paediatrics, obstetric, ophthalmology, ENT, general medicine and general surgery for Arogyasri Card holders.

Annual Teppotsavam in Tirumala will be observed from March 20 to 24 while other important religious events includes Mahashivartri at Gogarbha Theertham on March 8 and Thumburu Theertha Mukkoti fete on March 25.

TTD is performing special programs like Amalaka Ekadasi on March 20, Lakshmi Jayanti on 25 and Sheetalastami on April 2 at the SV Vedic University

Brahmotsavams at Sri Venkateswara temple Tondamanpuram from March 9 to 17

Annual Brahmotsavam at Tarigonda Sri Lakshmi Narasimha temple from March 16 to 24.

Hundi collections Rs 111.71 crore in February 

After the programme, speaking to the media the TTD EO has given the Darshan and other pilgrim statistics related to the month of February.

A total of 19.06 lakh devotees had darshan, the Hundi collection was ₹111.71 crore, Laddu sales 95.43 lakhs, Anna Danam for 43.61 lakh devotees, devotees tonsured heads 6.56 lakhs.
