KARIMNAGAR, JULY 13, 2024: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) would organise ‘Sri Jagannatha Rath Yatra’ in the tradition of Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 15 in Karimnagar town.
The procession would begin from Sri Satyanarayana swamy temple at Ramnagar and pass through Mankammathota, Indira chow, RTC bus station, Sastri road, Tower and reach Vaishya bhavan. The chariot would comprise of Sri Jagannath, Balabadra and Subhadra. The cultural troupes and others would sing keertans and dance before the chariot of Sri Jagannatha all along the route.
As a prelude to the rath yatra, sand artist R Shankar carved out sand sculptures of Lord Jagannath his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra on the premises of Kala bharathi in Karimnagar town on Friday. Collector Pamela Sathpathy visited the sculptures. Organiser Narahari Prabhuji, local corporator S Ravinder Singh, rath yatra committee members Dr L Raja Bhaskar Reddy, chairman Kanna Krishna, co-chairman Tummala Ramesh Reddy, Komalla Rajender Reddy, B Madhusudhan Reddy, K Venkatesh,, Pragna Bharathi members and others were also present.
