RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, JULY 13, 2024: The Rajanna-Sircilla district police sniffer dog (Tango) which had served around eight years in the police department in Sircilla district was buried with full state honours in the textile town on Saturday.
Tango (German shepherd) breathed his last on Saturday due to ill-health. Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, Additional SP Chandraiah, RIs Yadagiri, Madhukar, Ramesh, sniffer dog handler Laxman, dog squad and others paid their last respects.
On this occasion, the SP said that Tango had served the police department for eight years and played crucial in the detection of 15 murder cases, 84 robberies and burglaries. Tango was instrumental in nabbing the accused persons under the guidance of its handler Laxman.
