HYDERABAD, JULY 13, 2024: Religious fervour and gaiety marked the Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath, organised by ISKCON Miyapur temple in Hyderabad on Saturday. Devotees participated in large numbers in the pulling of chariots of the deity to invoke the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
The chariot carrying Lord Jagannath, Balabadra and Subhadra, were pulled by a large number of devotees amidst chanting of the names of the deity. Women drew colourful rangolis before pulling of the chariots and performed ‘kolatam’ before the chariots. The chariots were taken on the main road through Madinaguda, Allwyn cross roads, Miyapur cross roads, JP nagar and converged at Vishwanath gardens.
ISKCON Communications director Yudister Govind Das Mumbai temple president Kamal Lochana Das, Tirupati temple president Revathi Ramana Das, Miyapur temple president Sriram Das, local leaders Ravi Kumar Yadav, Sampath, Vishnuvardhan Yadav, Goparaju Srinivas, Devishetty Srinivas and others were also present.
