TIRUPATI, JULY 14, 2024: Paruveta Utsavam’, the mock hunting ceremony conducted at Tirumala, a day after Sakshatkara Vaibavotsavams, was enacted at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram near here on Saturday.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management made all arrangements for the successful conduct of the event, in which the deity was taken on a procession to the ‘Parveta Mandapam’, located 5 km from the temple on Srivari Mettu route. As the purpose is ‘hunting’, the processional deity (Utsava Vigraham) is made to wield all of his weapons. As the unique festival started, the priests performed the mock hunt festival by throwing a spear on replicas of wild beasts, on behalf of the Lord.
TTD Special Grade DyEO Varalakshmi, AEO Gopinath, devotees others participated in large numbers. In the morning, the Utsava murthiews of Sri Kalayana Venkateshwara Swamy and his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi were rendered Snapana Tirumanjanam at Paruveta Mandapam near Srivari mettu.
