A total of 22.13 pilgrims had darshan at Tirumala in the month of July 2024 and TTD earned Rs 125.33 crore through Hundi collections
TIRUMALA, AUGUST 02, 2024: The pilgrims of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam were all praise for the recent initiatives brought in the last one and half months by TTD Executive Officer J Shyamala Rao in increasing the number of SSD tokens, enhancing the quality of Annaprasadam and Laddu Prasadam in Tirumala.
During the monthly Dial Your EO programme held at Annamayya bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, TTD EO Shyamala Rao answered 33 devotees’ calls which mostly included on darshan and accommodation bookings, Srivari Seva, online services, quality of Laddu and Dharma prachara activities.
Answering to the callers, the EO said many changes were brought recently for the benefit of common devotees. The SSD tokens have been increased from 1.05 lakhs to 1.47 lakh tones per week to avoid waiting time for pilgrims in queue lines besides restricting the SRIVANI tickets in offline to 1,000.
He also said that the quality of Annaprasadam being served at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam complex and Srivari Laddy prasadams have also been enhanced. Even the big and small hotels, other eateries in Tirumala are being instructed to serve qualitative and hygienic food at affordable prices to the multitude of visiting pilgrims in Tirumala as the health safety of devotes is also one of the top most priorities of TTD.
Some other excerpt suggestions from pilgrim callers included review on the lease policy of TTD Kalyana mandapams, safeguarding the TTD land located at Tirutanni, unhygienic environment prevailing in Sapthagiri rest house in Tirumala, darshan to other Para-military forces through Supatham, route mapsin dharma ratham buses and many more. Answering to the callers, the EO said the suggestions will be reviewed and appropriate decision will be taken after a thorough analysis with the concerned departments. Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary, JEOs Gautami and Veerabrahmam, CEO SVBC Shanmuka Kumar, CE Nageshwar and others were also present.
Later briefing newsmen, the EO said a total of 22.13 lakh devotees had darshan at Tirumala during the month of July 2024. They had collected Rs 125.33 crore through hundi collections and sold 1.04 crore Laddu prasadams. A total of 24.04 lakh devotees had Annaprasadam and 8.67 lakh devotees tonsured their heads.
