NGO celebrates Ugadi with slum children in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 09, 2024: ‘Memu Saitham Yuva Sena Foundation, a Karimnagar town based voluntary organisation, celebrated the Ugadi, Telugu New Year with the residents of slum-dwellers in Rekurthi locality in Karimnagar town on Tuesday.

The NGO representatives led by its president Chakilam Swapna Srinivas arrived at the hut-dwellers by preparing the Ugadi Pachhadi, Bakshalu, Pulihora, other sweets, new clothes for women and children and also towels. Later, they celebrated the Ugadi festival among the slum-dwellers by distributing new clothes and serving the delicious Ugadi Pachhdai, pulihora and other sweets.

Chakilam Swapna said that ‘Memu Saitham Yuva Sena foundation’ was established only to bring happiness among the deprived sections. Hence, we celebrated the Ugadi festival with these poor people by distribute new clothes and sweets and savouries, she said that it was a memorable moment to see the happiness in the eyes of the children and women when the Ugadi festival was celebrated with them in a joyous moment. Representatives Swapna Srinivas, Roopa, Anuroop and others were also present.
