TIRUPATI, MAY 06, 2025: ‘Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam’, the purificatory ritual, was performed grandly at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanoor near Tirupati on Tuesday, ahead of the annual Vasanthothsavam (Spring festival) slated from May 11 to 13, 2025.

It is an age-old practice to cleanse the temple precincts, especially the sanctum sanctorum, ahead of holy occasions, with aromatic products. Priests and temple staff cleaned the premises by splashing water on the walls, roof slab, puja vessels and other articles and smeared them with a rich aromatic paste made of Srichurnam, Namakommu, Kasturi, turmeric, camphor, sandal powder, Kichligadda and perfumed water.
The Anukarpana for the Vasanthotsavam would be conducted on May 10 at 6 pm. The devotees can participate in the celebrations by paying Rs 150 ticket charges. As part of the celebrations, the Swarna Rathotsavam would be conducted on May 12.
The TTD has cancelled the Kalyanotsavam and Unjal seva at the temple in view of Vasanthotsavam from May 11 to 13. TTD priests Babu Swamy, AEO Devarajulu, superintendent G Ramesh, temple inspectors Chalapati, Subbarayudu, Prasad, AVSO Satish Kumar and others were also present.
