KARIMNAGAR, JULY 08, 2024: The Historians and priests of Karimnagar town have urged the district administration to take measures for the restoration and renovation of the ancient Elgandal fort and its temples and stepwell on its premises.

Local Jyothisya Vasthu pandit Namilikonda Ramana Chary along with VHP secretary Vidyasagar and others visited the Elgandal fort and its stepwell on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Monday. They inspected the neglected stepwell and the historic Srirama temple, Narasimha Swamy temple, Sri Ranganadha swamy temple, Kalyana mandapams and other ancient structures.
They urged the government to take measures to restore the ancient constructions and encourage tourism. VHP leader Thota Rajender, local priest Haribabu Sharma and others also visited the stepwell site. They urged the government to restore the stepwell and other ancient temples, which were destroyed by the then rulers.
