KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 06, 2024: Vivekananda Residential School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great devotion and enthusiasm under the theme “Vignahartha” on Friday (September 6). The event showcased the creative and spiritual essence of the festival while engaging students in a series of activities that emphasized cultural values and environmental consciousness.

The highlight of the day was an educative play performed by the students of class 4, narrating the story of Lord Ganesh to the younger students of classes 1 and 2. The play depicted key moments from Ganesh’s life, emphasizing his role as the remover of obstacles and the significance of wisdom, with captivating performances by the young actors.

As part of the co-curricular activities, students from classes 1 to 12 took part in eco-friendly Ganesh-making activities. The creations ranged from Ganesha idols made using pulses, flowers, leaves, fruits, vegetables, and clay, demonstrating the students’ innovation and commitment to sustainability. These activities not only sparked creativity but also raised awareness about eco-friendly celebrations, encouraging students to adopt green practices.

The Art and Craft Department played a pivotal role in promoting eco-consciousness by making eco-friendly Ganesh idols from clay fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature and celebrating festivals in a way that minimizes harm to the environment.

The celebrations concluded with a display of the students’ artistic creations, filling the atmosphere with the spirit of devotion and environmental responsibility. The Principal, Mrs. Renuka  Balivada congratulated the students for their hardworking and dedication. The Chairman, Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani and the Director (Academics), Dr. T Lalitha Kumari  wished the students, parents and the staff a blessed Ganesh Chaturthi.
