Darshan at Tirumala temple takes more than 24 hours

TIRUMALA, MAY 19, 2024: Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy witnessed heavy pilgrims rush for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

The Vaikuntam queue complex and Narayanagiri sheds remained packed with the devotees seeking sarva darshan without tokens. The queue lines extended to about three kilometers outside line at Octopus building.

In spite of TTD alerting the devotees that the free darshan will take more than 24 hours, the pilgrims rush continued to swell at the Hill shrine. The TTD is struggling hard to regulate the pilgrims rush and providing drinking water, milk and food to the waiting devotees in queue lines.

On Saturday, a total of 90,721 devotees had darshan of the deity. About 50,599 devotees tonsured their heads and the hundi collection was Rs 3.28 crore.
