HYDERABAD, MAY 21, 2025: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that former Prime Minister Mr Rajiv Gandhi has developed India as a strong economic country by introducing a slew of economic liberalisation policies.
As Prime Minister, Visionary leader Mr Rajiv Gandhi brought glory and enhanced the esteem of the country. Mr Revanth Reddy said that Mr Rajiv Gandhi was instrumental in providing an adult franchise to the youth at the age of 18 and allowed them to play a key role in the formation of Governments.
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Bharath Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Secretariat on the occasion of his 34th death anniversary on Wednesday. Every citizen in the country remembered the fighting spirit of former PM Indira Gandhi at the time of the Pahalgam incident, he said and added that Iron lady Indira Gandhi taught a befitting lesson to Pakistan by retaliating the attacks, sponsored by the neighbouring country in the guise of terrorism, on Indian people.
Indira Gandhi asserted that India does not require anyone’s mediation as the country is strong enough to safeguard itself. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a step back to avenge Pakistan in the Pahalgam incident. The present union government is in an incapacitated situation where the country would have to call for a ceasefire under the instructions of US President Donald Trump.
The BJP leaders are trying to hide their incompetence by criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is in deep slumber, who should have stood by the Centre in the difficult times.
We came forward and announced unflinching support for the Union Government. The union minister did not acknowledge us and instead criticised Rahul Gandhi. Kishan Reddy targeted Rahul Gandhi only to cover up his incompetence, he alleged.
Some political forces picked holes in the installation of Rajiv Gandhi’s statue near the state Secretariat. Some narrow-minded people criticised former PM Rajiv Gandhi, he stated.
The history of sacrificing their lives for the country belongs to the Gandhi family and the Congress party. It is our responsibility will stand by the Indian soldiers for protecting the country. We will not indulge in political brickbats on the integrity of the country and are committed to rendering service for the safety and security of the country.
