KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 01, 2024: Students of Sister Nivedita School celebrated the vibrant Bathukamma festival, embodying the rich cultural heritage of Telangana. The event, graced by Mrs. Ramadevi Polasani (Secretary) and Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari (Principal), saw students and all the faculty members dressed in beautiful traditional attire. The festivities began as students and teachers gathered around the beautifully arranged floral stacks, singing traditional songs and dancing in circles, representing unity and sisterhood.
Bathukamma, a symbol of Telangana’s connection with nature, was celebrated joyfully, with students immersing in the floral arrangements at Tank Bund, Hussain Sagar Lake, concluding the event. This celebration also highlighted the ecological importance of Bathukamma, as the flowers used for the festival help purify water bodies, embodying the spirit of environmental conservation in the festive tradition.
The school community came together to not only celebrate the rich culture of Telangana but also to educate students on the significance of this floral festival in preserving natural resources and fostering unity.
