NEW DELHI, MAY 22, 2025: The Ministry of External Affairs has selected a total of 750 yatris for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra-2025 which run from June to August.

A fair, computerized draw has selected the 750 yatris from 5561 applicants by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh on Wednesday (May 21).
The yatris to undertake the pilgrimage in five batches (each batch comprising 50 yatris and two liaison officers) from Lipulekh and 10 batches from Nathla La. Both routes are now fully motorable and involve little trekking, ensuring greater accessibility and safety. The yatra duration is for about 22 days, and the estimated cost per person is Rs 1.74 lakh.
The yatris need to spend 3 or 4 days in Delhi for preparations and medical tests before starting the Yatra. The Delhi Government arranges common boarding and lodging facilities free of cost for Yatris only. Yatris are at liberty to make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging in Delhi.
The applicant may do some basic checks to determine their state of health and fitness before registering online. However, this will not be valid for the medical tests to be conducted by DHLI and ITBP in Delhi before the Yatra.
The Yatra involves trekking at high altitudes of up to 19,500 feet, under inhospitable conditions, including extreme weather, and rugged terrain, and may prove hazardous for those who are not physically and medically fit. The itinerary provided is tentative, and visits to the places are subject to local conditions at any point in time. The Government of India shall not be responsible in any manner for any loss of life or injury to a Yatri, or any loss or damage to the property of a Yatri, due to any natural calamity or due to any other reason. Pilgrims undertake the Yatra purely at their own volition, cost, risk and consequences. In case of death across the border, the Government shall not have any obligation to bring the mortal remains of any pilgrim for cremation to the Indian side. All Yatris are, therefore, required to sign a Consent Form for cremation of mortal remains on the Chinese side in case of death.
This Yatra is organised with the support of the state governments of Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Sikkim, and the cooperation of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), and Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) and their associated organisations provide logistical support and facilities for each batch of Yatris in India. The Delhi Heart and Lung Institute conducts medical tests to determine the fitness levels of applicants for this Yatra.
