

HANAMKONDA, MARCH 15, 2025: The Department of Commerce and Business Management and Consumer Club of Kakatiya Government College (autonomous), Hanamkonda, celebrated World Consumer Rights Day and educated the students on the history of World Consumer Day and various aspects of the Consumer Protection Act on Saturday.


The Programme was presided over by the College Principal, G Raja Reddy, while the National Vice President of the World Wise Consumer Rights and Protection Service Organization (NGO) and Kakatiya University Executive Council Member Anitha Reddy and M Vishala Rao were present as the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, College vice Principal Rajani Latha said that today’s youth are using technology well and are being subjected to many frauds. She spoke and urged students to get protection from cyber frauds. D Rajashekar, Head Department of Commerce & B Mgt, stressed students to be alert in every action as there are number of online frauds while using their mobile. Be cautious while sharing your data, read the terms and conditions while purchasing any products, and report unfair practices, he added.
Representatives of the service organizations M.Vishala Rao explained about consumer rights. Anitha Reddy spoke and explained in detail about the frauds that happen to consumers and the laws that exist to protect them. In recent cyber frauds, like the CBI police officers are threatening the students. In addition, even if a small service is received, if there are defects in that service, if the quality of the product is not as indicated, if the person is subjected to physical and mental stress, the students were made aware that consumer forums are operating at the district level, state level and national level to complain against the service provider and use their services to get compensation. In addition, a complaint was made to the toll-free 1930 number to report cyber frauds.
