PEDDAPALLI, JUNE 05, 2024: National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of Sacred Heart High School, Godavarikhani, observed the World Environment Day by taking up plantation of saplings and watering the existing plants on the school campus in the coal belt region on Wednesday.
School Principal Sister Joshna Palepu, Associated NCC First officer PD Jyothsna and cadets participated in the programme. They also participated in the removal of weeds and shrubs and plastic waste on the premises. The cadets created awareness programmes on protection of environment with slogans of save water, save earth, save environment, save life, say no to plastic, plant more trees and highlighted the importance of sustainable development.
Expressing concern over increasing temperature due to global warming, the NCC cadets stressed on the need for massive plantation and it nurturing by watering regularly till it grows into a huge tree.
