Paddy procurement begins in Karimnagar, opens 341 procurement centres to provide MSP to farmers

Collector Pamela Satpathy inaugurates a centre in Choppadandi mandal

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 01, 2024: The paddy procurement from the farmers has begun in the Karimnagar district on Monday. The district authorities have decided to open 341 paddy procurement centres in various parts of the Karimnagar district.

Collector Pamela Satpathy had formally inaugurated a paddy procurement centre in Vedurugatta village of Choppadandi mandal by weighing the paddy in a gunny bag. Speaking on the occasion, she instructed the officials to ensure proper procurement of the paddy from the farmers without causing any inconvenience.

Informing the officials to ensure that there was no shortage of gunny bags at the procurement centres, the Collector informed the farmers to bring the cleaned harvested paddy to the procurement centre to secure the government fixed Minimum support price. She advised the farmers not to approach middlemen and visit only the procurement centres for securing the MSP.

She informed the farmers to clean the paddy produce and see that there was less moisture content by drying the crop to secure the MSP. Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran, DAO Srinivas, District civil supply Officer Gauri Shankar, Civil supplies DM Rajanikanth, Additional DRDO Sunitha, DPM Praveen, APM Narmada, and others were also present.
