RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 12, 2024: A Youtuber Kondam Pranay from Thangalapalli mandal headquarters of Rajanna-Sircilla district was booked by the forest officials for posting a video titled ‘Peacock curry’ on social media on Sunday.
In order to garner more views, the Youtuber had resorted to this act. The Youtuber posted a video on how to make peacock curry on the social media. The post went viral on the social media and the animal rights activists finding fault for killing the national bird peacock. Following the backlash from the viewers, the Youtuber deleted the video.
Following the news, the forest officials rushed to his house and recovered chicken curry and some cock feathers from his house. The forest officials sent the curry sample to the lab for forensic analysis.
However, the Youtuber told the forest officials that he cooked only chicken curry and uploaded video as ‘Peacock curry’ for more views. The forest officials said that they would register a case if the curry turned out to be peacock. If not, he would be handed over to the police for false publicity about national bird, they added.
