KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 12, 2024: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is all set to add 70 new e-buses to its fleet in Karimnagar district very soon.
The TGSRTC has decided to add a total of 70 buses and in the first phase 33 super-luxury buses would be introduced on the Karimnagar to Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) the rent buses on Gross Cost Contract (GCC) and the RTC would maintain the buses.
In a press note on Monday, TGSRTC Karimnagar regional manager N Sucharitha said that the RTC had decided to introduce environment-friendly e-buses in the district. Among the 70 buses allocated to the Karimnagar district, 39 services would be operated on Karimnagar to JBS, nine buses to Godavarikhani route, four buses on Karimnagar and Manthani route, six buses to Kamareddy, Six buses to Jagtial and six e-buses on Karimnagar to Sircilla (non-stop).
The regional manager said they were presently making all arrangements for the e-buses such as charging stations and other electricity works. She said they would introduce e-bus services in the district as soon as the electricity works are completed. These super luxury buses can run 225 kilometres on a single charge. To ensure the safety of passengers, the buses will be equipped with CCTV cameras and a fire detection system.
