PEDDAPALLI, JULY 17, 2024: Two Singareni workers were buried alive when the sidewall collapsed on them at Open Cast Project-2 of Ramagundam-3 area in Godavarikhani on Wednesday.
Reports reaching here said that the coal miners were repairing a motor at high-level sump in the second shift when the sidewall collapsed. Fitter Uppula Venkateshwarlu and General mazdoor Gadam Vidyasagar died on the spot. Two others Srinivasa Rao and Sammaiah were injured.
Following the incidents during the last two days, the earth caved in as the management had forced the coal miners to workers even during the rains.
Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N Balaram has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members. Assuring all help to the family members, he said that they would conduct an inquiry into the accident.
