HYDERABAD, JULY 17, 2024: Senior Congress leader and women’s rights activist Nerella Sharada has assumed charge as the chairperson of the Telangana State Women’s Commission in Hyderabad on Wednesday, on the auspicious ‘Tholi Ekadasi’ festival.
Minister for Irrigation N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Women Welfare Minister Seethakka, MLA Danam Nagender and others were also present. A government order released on July 12 to this effect stating that Nerella Sharada was appointed as chairperson of Women’s Commission after her predecessor Sunitha Lakshma Reddy submitted her resignation.
On this occasion, Sharada thanked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Cabinet Ministers for appointing her as the Women’s Commission chairperson. She assured to strive for the protection of women’s rights. A native of Karimnagar district, Sharada was former ZPTC member in the integrated Karimnagar district and occupied several posts in the Congress party.
