Stray dogs on the prowl, bites three students in Karimnagar town

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 10, 2024: The stray dogs are on the prowl in various parts of Karimnagar town due to the lethargy on the part of authorities of Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK).

Freshly on Wednesday, the stray dogs had pounced on the students of a private school in Gunj area in Karimnagar town and bitten three students including Sriman Malyala, Pujitha (17) and elderly person seriously. The alert the locals have prevented the major casualties by chasing away the dogs. In all, the dogs have bitten three students. The locals have shifted the students to the government headquarters hospital for treatment.

Locals have expressed their ire against the MCK authorities for not removing the stray dogs from the localities in the town. Neither they had sterilised the dogs over the last few days nor removed from the residential areas, said Sardar Sohan Singh and urged the authorities to launch a special drive to remove all stray dogs on a war-footing and threatened to launch agitational programmes. Incidentally, several stray dogs are camping the Collectorate office premises and attacking the petitioners visiting the office to submit petitions for redressal of their grievances.
