PEDDAPALLI, AUGUST 19, 2024: The Mancherial police have detected the stealing of Rs 28 lakhs cash from a parked vehicle in Bellampalli with the arrest of four persons and recovery of Rs 24 lakhs cash, two motorcycles and four cellular phones from their possession.
Disclosing this to newsmen on Monday, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Srinivas said that they had arrested Patlavath Dasu (26), a car driver, resident of Bharathnagar, Athapur, Hyderabad and a native of Gorigadda thanda in Mahabubnagar district, Jogu alias Pothula Shiva (25), a car driver, resident of Kishanbagh, Athapur, Hyderabad and a native of Shivarampalli village of Rangareddy district, M Raju (24), a private employee, a resident of Shivarampalli of Rangareddy district and native of Manigalla village of Wanaparthy district and Panduga Raju (22), a delivery boy from Kannala basthi, Bellampalli.
The accused persons had stolen a bag containing cash of Rs 28 lakhs from a parked car from Bellampalli bazar on August 17, 2024. Following a complaint lodged by the representatives of Vasavi Traders company, the Ramagundam CP constituted four special teams under the supervision of Mancherial DCP A Bhaskar, Bellampalli ACP Ravikumar and Bellampalli one town inspector Devaiah.
The special teams after watching the CCTV footage and identifying the accused persons had launched the vehicle checking and nabbed them when they were coming on motorcycles along with cash.
The CP said that the main accused Patlavath Dasu, who worked as car driver with the complainant and businessman Bipin Kumar in Hyderabad. The accused person knows where the businessman travels and how he collects from the traders. To make easy money and settle in life, Dasu stopped working with the businessman and before that, he made a duplicate key of the car used by Bipin Kumar.
He informed the same to his friends and started from Hyderabad on August 16, 2024 following the news of the businessman starting for collection. They stayed at a temple near the hotel in Mancherial town where the businessman stays overnight. On August 17 morning, four members divided into two and followed the car till it reached a tiffin centre in Bellampalli bazar.
After noticing the car being parked, the accused persons wearing helmets and masks opened the car with duplicate keys and took away a bag containing Rs 28 lakhs cash. After stealing the amount, they stayed in the nearby forests. On August 18, they came out of the forests and planned to visit the tiffin centre for breakfast and later rush to Hyderabad.
However, the alert police, who launched the vehicle check nabbed the accused when they were moving under suspicious circumstances. The police recovered Rs 9 lakhs from Dasu, Rs 8 lakhs from Shivas, Rs 4 lakhs from M Raju and Rs 3 lakhs from P Raju. The CP congratulated the team for the detection of the case within 24 hours and rewarded the cops with a cash prize to inspector Devaiah, constable I Mallesham, Mancherial CCS police constables Satish, Srinivas and others.
