RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, DECEMBER 02, 2024: The Rajanna-Sircilla police cracked a whip against the use of modified silencers by motorists in Sircilla textile town on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the police have used road-rollers to crush down a total of 72 silencers including three silencers seized from the police.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan said that motorists were replacing their factory-fitted exhausts with modified silencers, leading to noise pollution. He said that the modified silencers were known to cause sound pollution and health problems, particularly for elderly people, pregnant women, and patients with ailments.
Warning serious cases against for using modified silencers, he said that the police had seized 10 police vehicles for using modified silencers in the strict.
He called upon the people to dial Sircilla Traffic SI 871265441 and Vemulawada SI 8712656440 if any one was using modified silencers and flouting the normsm. DSP Chandrashekhar Reddy, CI Krishna Prasad, SI Ramesh and others were also present.
