
GODAVARIKHANI, JANUARY 22, 2025: The Ramagundam Commissionerate of Police have handed over around 200 lost mobile phones to its owners worth Rs 25.68 lakhs in Ramagundam on Wednesday.
On this occasion, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police M Srinivas informed the people who may lost mobile phones or other electronic gadgets to lodge their complaint to the nearest police station or cybercrime cell promptly so snatchers or thieves may be traced by using a system called Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) developed by the central Department of Telecommunications, which was designed to help combat mobile theft and stop the use of counterfeit devices.

The CP said that so far 5280 complaints have been lodged with CEIR about the lost mobile phones and they had recovered 1538 phones in the Commissionerate limits to its original owners. He said that www.ceir.gov.in was made available in the Ramagundam commissioner of police from April 19, 2023 onwards. Additional DCP (admn) C Raju, Special Branch ACP Raghavendra Rao, CCS inspector Kamalakar, IT cell inspector Chandrashekhar Goud and others were also present.
