RAF conducts flag march in Karimnagar Town

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 29, 2024: Even before the announcement of election notification for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the elite Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel have arrived conducted a flag march in Karimnagar town on Thursday.

Attired in their traditional blue fatigue and fully geared with weapons and batons and teargas, the RAF personnel have participated in the flag march from the Kaman circle and passed through Ashoknagar, Naka Chowrastha, Old Shiva temple, Rajiv chowk, Tower circle  and other parts of the town.

This is a part of a familiarization exercise by the RAF, a specialized wing to deal with riots and riot-like situations as part of periodic exercise to familiarize itself with the topography of the sensitive areas to instill confidence among the people and promote communal harmony.

Earlier, Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty conducted a review meeting with the RAF battalion personnel belonging to B-99 regiment, who have arrived to discharge their duties to conduct ensuing parliament elections smoothly.  Providing information about the problematic and sensitive locations in various parts of the district, the CP assured to ensure that the elections would be conducted in a peaceful manner without any untoward incident by utilizing the services of RAF. RAF Additional Commandant Biswa Ranjan Sahu, Additional DCPs C Raju and A Laxminarayana, ACPs Srinivas, Narender, Vijay Kumar, Inspectors Roshan (RAF), Lalithgopi Narayan (RAF), Srujan Reddy, Sarilal, Venkatesh, Srinivas, Shekhar Babu, Sridhar Reddy, Suresh and others were also present.
