No New Year celebrations at Cable-stayed bridge and LMD reservoir in Karimnagar town: CP Abishek Mohanty

Warns of stringent action against hoteliers, bakeries and other eateries for encroaching on roads and causing traffic inconvenience

Police will continue to drive against drunken driving, triple riding, use of modified silencers etc

KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 30, 2024: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police has informed that the cable-stayed bridge and Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir in Karimnagar town will be closed from 6 pm on Tuesday (December 31, 2024) to 5 am on Wednesday (January 1, 2025) to avoid any untoward incidents because of the New Year Celebrations in the town.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Monday, Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty said that the police had banned the New Year revelries at the Cable-stayed bridge and on the bund of the LMD reservoir in Karimnagar to avoid any untoward incidents. He also instructed the New Year revelries that they would not allow any kind of DJ music and nuisance in public places in the town and the police would be patrolling throughout the night to check any nuisance in the name of New Year revelries.

He also warned of launching a special drive against the two-wheelers for using modified silencers and causing sound pollution and nuisance in the town. The police would also continue to drive against drunken driving, triple and rash driving on the New Year’s Eve celebrations. He also warned the people of the town for conducting private parties participating in anti-social activities and causing nuisance in the town.

He also instructed traders such as hoteliers, bakeries and other eateries not to encroach on the road and cause traffic snarls and inconvenience by selling their products on the roads.
