JAGTIAL, SEPTEMBER 26, 2026: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught Metpally Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in Jagtial district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹63,000 for not making adverse remarks during inspections of Anganwadi centres.
The CDPO, Daroju Padma, allegedly demanded ₹1,000 every month from each of 21 Anganwadi Centres to avoid adverse remarks during her inspections. Following the complaint, the ACB trapped the CDPO and caught her red-handed on Saturday while accepting ₹63,000, the alleged bribe amount for three months.
The total monthly demand allegedly amounted to ₹21,000. For three months, the amount worked out to ₹63,000.
The ACB said the money was allegedly demanded in exchange for not making adverse remarks during inspections of the Anganwadi Centres.
