KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 14, 2024: Disillusioned with the party ideology and attracted by the Telangana government’s rehabilitation package, a Maoists Naxalite couple had surrendered by the Warangal police inchage Commissioner of Police and Karimnagar CP Abhishek Mohanty in Karimnagar town on Friday.
Thikka Sushmita and Madakam Dula, Maoists area committee members, have surrendered before CP, who handed over amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the surrendered extremists.
Sushmitha, a native of Sudhampalli village in Hasanparthy mandal of Hanakonda district, studied upto Intermediate and joined the Maoists group in 2016 as her father Thikka Sudhakar was a Maoist sympathiser. She joined the Maoists group in the presence of Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar in Bijapur district of Chatisgarh state.
Madakam Dula, a native of Pariya village in Sukuma district of Chatisgarh state, a fifth class drop-out joined the Maoists in 2008. Sushmitha and Dula got married in 2020 and worked in Maoists group in various capacities. Kazipet ACP Tirumal and Hasanpathi inspector J Suresh were also present.
