MANCHERIAL, MAY 20, 2024: The Jaipur police have seized a leopard skin and arrested two persons at Rapanapally bridge under Jaipur police station limits of Mancherial district on Monday.
Police sources said that they had arrested Durgam Pavan (31), a resident of Beejapur district of Chatisgarh state and Babar Khan (42) of Bareguda post in Chatisgarh state and seized leopard skin, two motorcycles, mobiles phones from their possession. They revealed that Durgam Pawan had killed the leopard in the Bodagutta forest area of Beejapur district two years back and on Monday they were transporting the skin to Mancherial to sell the same.
On reliable information, the police apprehended the accused persons at Rapanapally-Sironcha bridge. A team of forest officials have also visited the spot and confirmed that it was leopard skin. A case was registered under Wildlife protection act of 1972 and handed over to the forest officials for further investigation.
