KHAMMAM, JUNE 10, 2024: The Prohibition and Excise Enforcement police have seized ganja weighing 39.5 kilograms worth around Rs 20 lakhs concealed in the bushes at the RTC new bus stand in the heart of Khammam town on Monday.
Following the information credible information about the contraband bags dumped in the buses at the Khammam RTC bus stand, the Enforcement inspector Sunkari Ramesh along with his team rushed to the spot and recovered the ganja weighing 39.5 kgs in three bags. It is believed that the ganja was smuggled from Odisha state to be transported to Hyderabad city from Khammam district.
The accused persons had escaped from the spot. Along with CI Sunkari Ramesh, his team Babu, Sudheer, Harish, Venkatesh, Vijay, Hanumanth Rao, Baby, Swaroopa participated in the operation. Excise DC Janardhan Reddy and AC Ganesh and AES Tirupathi congratulated the team.
