The Karimnagar Court has remanded Mahipal for 14 days judicial custody
KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 20, 2024: Former Minister and Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar’s close associate and BRS leader and District Olympic Association President Nandelli Mahipal was arrested by the Karimnagar district police on the charges of land grabbing, economic offences and resorting to several ‘piravees’ (lobbying) on Tuesday.
Following a complaint lodged by Erram Kanaka Raju, the police have arrested Mahipal and registered cases under IPC sections 467 (forges document), 468 (forgery), 471 (fradulent), 420 (cheating), 386 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120 (B) and other sections. He was taken to Kothapalli police station and other locations on the charges of land grabbing. It may be recalled that the Karimnagar police have arrested BRS municipal corporators and sent them for judicial custody on the charges of land grabbing.
Sources said that the police have registered criminal cases against nine other BRS leaders including husbands of Municipal Corporators on the charges of land grabbing in Karimnagar town.
