DGP reiterates that they were not against film star Allu Arjun and taking action as per law

Allu Arjun may be a film star, but he should understand the situation: DGP

KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 22, 2024: Telangana Director General of Police Dr Jitender said that the government was not against film star Allu Arjun and they were taking action as per law.

Interacting with newsmen after inaugurating the Bharosa centre at Kothapalli on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Sunday, the DGP said the importance of responsibility for everyone, regardless of their profession or public stature.

“Whether one is a film hero or anyone else, every citizen must act responsibly. The safety and lives of people are far more important than promoting a film,” he said. The DGP further clarified that the police are not personally against anyone but are committed to ensuring public safety.

Referring to recent incidents at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad, Mr Jitender stated, “He may be a film hero, but it is crucial to understand the ground realities. Such incidents are not conducive to public safety.” He said that the security of citizens are more important than anything else. Movie promotions are not more important than the safety of the people. Such incidents are not good for public security.” The DGP further stated that action would be taken if any complaints were received regarding the matter. Additionally, Jitender spoke about the ongoing investigation into the Mohan Babu case, where a family dispute has led to allegations of the actor attacking a journalist. The investigation into this matter is still underway.

Earlier, the DGP inaugurated the Bharosa Centre constructed on a sprawling 1,000 yards of land. He said that they had opened a total of 27 Bharosa centres in the state under the supervision of the Telangana police, Women Safety Wing and other departments for the safety and security of victims of sexually assaulted women. Women safety wing DIG Rema Rajeshwari, Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty, trainee IPS Yadav Vasundghara, additional DCP Laxmi, ACP Madhavi, inspector Laxmi and others were also present.
