Government makes major reshuffle of senior IPS officers
HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 07, 2024: The Telangana State Government reposted senior IPS officer CV Anand as the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police replacing incumbent Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy on Saturday.
It may be recalled that Mr Sreenivasa Reddy was made as the Commissioner of Police soon after the Congress government came to power. Mr Anand was the CP of Hyderabad Police from December 2021 until the Election Commission of India ordered his transfer along with several IAS and IPS officers. Before Sreenivasa Reddy assumed charge as CP of Hyderabad, Mr Saneep Shandilya was the Commissioner.
In a major reshuffle of IPS officers on September 7, 2024, CV Anand, Dierector-General of ACB, was reinstated as the Hyderabad CP, replacing Sreenivasa Reddy, who was transferred and posted as DG, of Vigilance and Enforcement.
Similarly, the other transfers of IPS officers include; Vijay Kumar, Additional DGP (personnel) was posted as director general of ACB. IPS officer Mahesh M Bhagwat, ADGP (Law & Order) was given the full additional charge as ADGO (Personnel & Welfare).
M Ramesh, IGP, Provisioning and Logistics is placed in full additional charge of the post of IGP (sports), Telangana, Hyderabad, till further orders.
