HYDERABAD, AUGUST 30, 2024: To apprise the students to prevent cyber frauds, an awareness session was organised by the NSS unit of the New Government Degree College for Women, Golkonda, Hyderabad, on Friday as per the directions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Cyber Crime Advisor Syed Hussain said the objective of the session was to create awareness among the students about various cyber frauds or scams. He educated the students about trending cyber frauds include work from home job frauds, cyber bullying, investment-based frauds, fake DP, QR code scams, OLX frauds, misusing IDs and other frauds using social media and calls.
Principal T Sree Lakshmi informed the students to immediately report cybercrime by dialing 1930 or www.cybercrime.gov.in. Besides, the victim can approach the nearest Cyber police station, she added. Academic coordinator NS Rajneesh, NSS programme officer Humera Sayeed and others were also present.
