HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 10, 2024: New Government Degree College for Women, Golkonda, Hyderabad in association with My Choices Foundation, Hyderabad, conducted an awareness programme on women’s safety on Tuesday.
Principal T Sree Lakshmi, My Choices foundation manager Dr Farzana Khan, programme coordinator Aliya Kousar, NSS programme officer Humera Sayeed and others participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal said that the programme was taken up to educate and empower girl students. She appreciated the My Choices Foundation for coming forward and empowering the girl students on their safety. She said the campaign aims to equip girl students with essential knowledge about recognising and responding to instances of abuse, while also familiarising them with relevant laws such as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
My Choices Foundation representatives educated the students about good touch, bad touch, crime against women and the provisions in the law for the protection of women’s safety. They also informed the students to approach the SHE team police or just dial 100 for any assistance instantly.
