KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 06, 2024: The Karimnagar Rural police have arrested RTA member and BRS leader Thota Sripathi Rao on the charges of demolition of under construction house in Karthikeyanagar in Theegalaguttapalli on the ourtskirts of Karimnagar town last month.
Based on a complaint, the Karimnagar rural police inspector Pradeep Kumar registered cases under IPC sections 447, 427, 120 (b) and launched a manhunt to nab the accused person. Following the information about Sripathi Rao taking shelter at his relative’s house in Hyderabad, the police arrested the accused person in Amberpet in Hyderabad on Monday night and produced before the court on Tuesday. The court had imposed 14 days judicial custody of Thota Sripathi Rao.
It may be recalled that the accused person along with his henchmen number more than 10 persons had visited the under construction house of Anumandla Ravinder in Karthikeyanagar in Theegalaguttapalli on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on January 10, 2024 and destroyed all the pillars of the house, borewell and water sump causing damages to the tune of Rs 4 lakhs. It was alleged that Sripathi Rao had planned to grab the land forcibly by terrorizing the victim.
