KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 06, 2024: Alleging that the role of Karimnagar legislator and former Minister Gangula Kamalakar in running land mafia and encroachment of public and properties in various parts of Karimnagar town, BJP state leader Bethi Mahender Reddy has called upon the victims of Gangula Kamalakar and his henchmen to unite and launch agitational programmes against the land sharks in Karimnagar town.
Talking to newsmen in Karimnagar town on Tuesday, Bethi Mahender Reddy, who is also senior advocate, alleged that the sitting BRS legislator Gangula Kamalakar played a key role in encouraging the BRS municipal corporators and others to resort to encroachment of the government and private lands. What is the reason behind the legislator and Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao meeting the BRS municipal corporators, who were lodged in Karimnagar jail on the charges of land grabbing, during the mulakath in the jail, he asked.
Finding fault with the sitting legislator for not uttering a word on the land grabbing and the land mafiar reinging terror in various parts of Karimnagar town, he demanded that the police should disclose the details of the statements made by the BRS municipal corporators during the police custody. He also alleged that the Revenue and Police officials have supported the land mafia run by then Minister Gangula Kamalakar in Karimnagar town following the land costs.
Demanding the registration of suo moto cases against the encroachment of private, public, assigned and ceiling and SRSP lands in Karimnagar town, he urged the district police officials to take stern action against the police and revenue officials who supported Gangula Kamalakar and his henchmen in the encroaching of lands and created terror among the people.
The BJP leader also appreciated Karimnagar Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty for personally receiving petitions and taking action to do justice to the people by constituting special police team. BJP leaders G Jitender Reddy, JD Bhagwan, V Suman, K Narahari, U Laxman and others were also present.
