HYDERABAD, AUGUST 13, 2024: Sleuths of Anti-corruption bureau have trapped Rangareddy district Additional Collector MV Bhoopal Reddy and senior section officer for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakhs.
According to sources, the ACB officials trapped the Additional Collector while accepting the brine amount at his residence on Tuesday. Bhoopal Reddy had earlier worked as Bhuvanagiri RDO. The ACB authorities have also arrested Y Madan Mohan Reddy, Senior Assistant in E Section, and conducted checking at his residences and relative’s houses.
According to ACB officials, the bribe was demanded for ‘removing complainant’s 14 guntas land parcel from prohibited list in Dharani website’. The tainted amount was initially recovered from the possession of Y. Madan Mohan Reddy. However, it was found that he had accepted the bribe on behalf of M.V. Bhoopal Reddy who had instructed the official to hand over the amount at Pedda Amberpet exit on the ORR.
