ACB traps Shamirpet Tahsildar and his driver for accepting bribe of Rs 10 lakhs

HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 13, 2024: Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have trapped Shamirpet Tahsildar Thodeti Satyanarayana and his driver P Bhadri red-handed at his office for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakhs from a person for doing official favour of issuance of pattadar passbook on Tuesday in Medchal Malkajgiri district.

According to sources, the Tahsildar had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakhs from the complainant Movva Ramaseshagiri Rao, residet of My Home Bhooja, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, for official favour to write a report in complainant’s favour and to forward the file to Collector for issuance of pattadar passbook pertaining to his lands.

The bribe amount of Rs 10 lakhs was accepted by Bhadri, the driver of the Tahsildar, and was recovered from his possession. Both the hands tested positive in phenolphthalein test. The driver confessed that he received the bribe amount only on the instructions of tahsildar Satyanararayana. The ACB officials are further probing into the corruption charges of tahsildar.
