

JAGTIAL, JANUARY 15, 2025: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau have trapped a sub-registrar, a contract employee and a private document writer for demanding an accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person for doing official favour at Metpally sub-registration office in Jagtial district on Wednesday.


Sources said that a person S Vishnu from Thimmapur village of Ibrahimpatnam mandal had approached the Metpally sub-registrar Asifuddin and urged for the mortgage of his land. The sub-registrar informed him to approach contract employee Banothu Ravi, who demanded Rs 10,000 for doing the work. Later, the deal was fixed for Rs 5,000.
The villager had approached the ACB and informed them of the corruption in the sub-registrar’s office. The ACP laid a trap and caught the contract employee B Ravi red-handed for accepting the bribe amount in the sub-registrar office. The ACB officials have arrested Sub-registrar, contract employee B Ravi and document writer A Ravi and will be produced before the ACC court in Karimnagar town.
