The 88th birth anniversary of Jayashankar celebrated at TSWRDC, Nagunuru
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 06, 2024: National Service Scheme (NSS) The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College, Nagunuru, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, celebrated the 88th birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Prof Kothapalli Jayashankar on their college premises on Tuesday.
College Principal T Malathi launched the celebrations by garlanding the portrait of Prof Jayashankar and paying floral tributes. On this occasion, the NSS wing conduct essay writing competitions and elocution competitions and distributed prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal T Malathi paid glorious tributes to Mr Jayashankar, the man who played a vital role in the protracted struggle that led to the formation of a separate Telangana state and added that his ideals should be taken forward. She said Prof Jayashankar was the beacon of the Telangana agitation and explained to the youth and the educated in a simple manner as to how injustice was done to the region in employment, allocation of funds and water sharing at every stage. Vice Principal G Samatha, NSS programming officer K Geetha Rani, senior faculty members D Srihari, S Padmaja, E Venkaeshwarlu, P Shankaraiah and others were also present.
