HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 22, 2024: Dr. S.L.N.T. Srinivas, State Coordinator, emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Cooperation’s initiatives in strengthening rural cooperatives as part of the Scaling Up Cooperatives campaign.
During his visit to Vizianagaram district, he addressed several interactive sessions organized at the societal level, focusing on enhancing the financial and operational capabilities of cooperatives. He highlighted that these programmes align with the “Sahakar Se Samruddhi” vision, aimed at promoting member participation, transparency, and operational efficiency in rural cooperatives.
Dr. Srinivas congratulated Mr Ramesh, District Cooperative Officer (DCO), Vizianagaram, for his proactive support and coordination in successfully organising these programmes. The programmes included focused discussions on turning loss-making societies into profit-making entities and addressing the challenges faced by Farmer farmer-producer organisations (FPOs).
Mr Ramesh acknowledged the significance of these initiatives and commended the efforts to reach out to grassroots-level societies, covering nearly 1,000 members. DCO Ramesh highlighted that such programs are instrumental in addressing key issues at the society level and ensuring their long-term sustainability. He further added that the sessions offered valuable insights into the Ministry’s initiatives, such as cooperative digitalization and enhancing governance structures.
Dr. Srinivas appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of the societies and reiterated the need for continuous efforts to promote cooperative development. He expressed confidence that the outcomes of these sessions would significantly impact the growth trajectory of cooperatives in Vizianagaram and serve as a model for other districts. Dr. Srinivas stated that the outcome report of these programs, along with field observations, will be submitted to the State Registrar of Cooperative Societies as advised.
