
HYDERABAD, MAY 22, 2025: National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) inaugurated a 16-day “International Training Programme in Internal Audit” for the ninth batch, consisting of 30 Officials from various councils of the Local Government Authority from the Republic of Maldives.
This International Training Programme is sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The programme is on Internal Audit, which includes both theoretical sessions, which were handled by the senior resource person who has vast experience in the field of Accounts and Audit, worked in the Department of Audit and Accounts, Comptroller General of India. The real-time experiences are showcased by taking them to the Zonal Offices of GHMC (Kairathabad, Serilingampally) in Hyderabad.

A Study tour to Warangal is included in this 16-day visit, where the officials witness the mechanism of internal audit in PRIs (at Zilla Parishad, Mandal Panchayat, Gram Panchayat levels) used in India, to understand the digitization of all schemes implemented for the upliftment of the livelihoods of the Rural people in India. Also, to showcase how the transparency and accountability are maintained at various levels in PRIs, ULBs. The training will be concluded on 02nd June, 2025, coordinated by CPRDPSSD, NIRDPR.
Also these officials will be exposed to various cultural and heritage sites like Golkonda, Tank Bund, Charminar, Ramoji Film City etc, in and around Hyderabad, Telangana.
