KARIMNAGAR, MAY 20, 2026: The cooperative movement has played a significant role in transforming rural economies in India by strengthening agriculture, improving livelihoods and protecting farmers from exploitation. Among the successful cooperative institutions in the country, Mulkanoor Cooperative Rural Credit & Marketing Society Ltd. stands as an outstanding example of integrated rural development and member-oriented services.
Over the last 69 years, the society has evolved into one of the strongest and most respected cooperative institutions in India by consistently focusing on the economic and social welfare of its members.
Integrated Services to Members
One of the major strengths of the Mulkanoor Cooperative Society is its integrated service model. Unlike ordinary credit cooperatives, the society provides multiple services covering finance, agricultural support, marketing, consumer services and welfare activities.
Financial Services
The society offers a wide range of loans for crop cultivation, irrigation, dairy, poultry, sheep rearing, tractors, orchards and personal needs.
The financial growth of the Mulkanoor Cooperative Society has been remarkable over the years, reflecting its strong institutional foundation and member confidence. As on 31 March 2025, the society’s membership increased to 7,540, while the share capital rose to Rs.1,815.59 lakh. Member deposits reached Rs.6,907.89 lakh, demonstrating the trust of rural members in the cooperative system. Loans outstanding stood at Rs.13,834.63 lakh, indicating the society’s extensive credit support to agriculture and allied activities. During 2024–25 alone, the society extended loans and advances worth Rs.24,234.71 lakh to its members, significantly supporting rural livelihoods and agricultural development.
Agricultural Input and Marketing Services
To support agricultural production, the society supplies fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, pumpsets, pipelines, diesel, poultry feed, medicines and agricultural implements at reasonable prices. Technical guidance is also provided through agricultural officers to improve farm productivity.
Another important service is agricultural marketing support. The society directly procures paddy and cotton from farmers, processes paddy into rice, undertakes cotton ginning, and promotes paddy seed production and marketing. This integrated marketing system protects farmers from middlemen exploitation and ensures better prices for their produce.
During 2024–25, the society recorded input sales worth Rs.3,152.80 lakh and agricultural produce sales amounting to Rs.12,179.09 lakh. The strong performance in both agricultural input supply and produce marketing significantly contributed to the society’s overall business growth. As a result, the total turnover of the society during the year reached an impressive Rs.40,776.70 lakh, reflecting its operational efficiency and strong member support.

It also manages rice mills, seed processing units, and cotton ginning units, which support value addition and better marketing opportunities for farmers. To strengthen agricultural and consumer services, the society operates diesel and petrol bunks, paddy procurement centres, fertiliser sale centres, transport vehicles and farm machinery. These facilities have significantly contributed to improving agricultural productivity, reducing marketing difficulties, and strengthening the rural economy in the operational area.
The society currently employs 140 staff members and consistently maintains “A” audit classification, reflecting sound governance and professional management.
Beyond financial services, the society also contributed to village electrification, drinking water facilities, animal health camps, family welfare awareness and rural infrastructure development.
