BHUBANESHWAR, AUGUST 14, 2024: NABARD and its subsidiary NABFOUNDATION are implementing a special pilot project to promote digital and safe payments in the BahadjholaMandi, Naygarh district in Odisha. Under the project various mandi level / village level awareness programmes are being conducted for promoting cashless digital transactions.
In continuation of the awareness creation activities, a kiosk was opened inside the Mandi premises on 14 August 2024, where all the farmers of the market will be able to get necessary information regarding banking schemes, social security schemes of government, financial literacy as well as regarding safe digital payments.
The kiosk was launched in the presence of Lead Bank Manager Mr Lohit Kumar Nanda, District Development Manager of NABARD Trupti Tapasi, FLC Mr RabindraNathSethi, FIC Mr Ashok Kumar Sahoo, RMC in charge Mr Sarat Ku Palei, eNAM analyst Mr Pravas Kumar Behera, Phone Pay district representatives, President and Secretary of the mandi traders association, president and staff of the implementing NGO partner GUC, Centre of Financial Literacy (CFL) counsellor and coordinators and farmer members. As part of the digital awareness, QR codes and voice boxes were also provided to the willing traders in the Mandi in association with Phone Pay for seamless digital transactions.
