RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, FEBRUARY 20, 2025: Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha has said that they had temporarily closed the Karimnagar Dairy’s milk chilling centre located in Agraharam of Vemulawada rural mandal on Thursday.

The 10,000 litres capacity chilling centre, which has been operated for the last 22 years, was seized on the ground that the centre has no permissions for Industries or land conversion from the Revenue Department, Pollution Control Board and other departments.

The Collector said that the Vemulawada town planning officials served notices to the Karimnagar Dairy. But, the Dairy officials have refused to accept the notices. He said that the district administration would take all measures for the benefit of milk-producing farmers by ensuring that they would supply milk to the Vijaya Dairy. The Collector also said that farmers could contact 8341031867, 9121160538 and 9398684240 if the farmers face any problems.
Irked over the government’s decision, the farmers staged a massive dharna in front of the milk centre opposing the government’s decision to shut down the milk unit in Agraharam. The traffic had come to a standstill on the Sircilla and Karimnagar highway following the dharna.
