Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, driven by the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Karimnagar DCCB has emerged as the first bank in the country to synchronise two Megawatts of solar power plants, viz one each in Gunjapadugu in Manthani mandal and Nandi Medaram in Dharmaram mandal in Peddapalli district, with the grid on Friday. The solar power plant was taken up to provide clean energy, extra income to farmers, and strengthen PACS.

It may mentioned here that Peddapalli Collector Koya Sree Harsha has allocated four acres of land to four PACS in Nandi Medaram (Dharmaram mandal), Appannapet, Kalwa Srirampur and Gunjapadugu (Manthani mandal) for installation of solar power plants. While, the Choppadandi and Kamalapur PACS had their own land for the installation of solar plants.
Karimnagar DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao said that two PACS in Gunjapadudu and Nandi Medaram have started generating two MWs of solar power and three other PACS viz Appannapet, Kalwa Srirampur and Choppadandi were ready for synchronization to the grid, and Kamalapur PACS will take another two months for completion of works synchronization with the power grid. NABARD DDM Jayaprakash and Peddapalli DCO Srimala and others monitored the steady progress of installation of solar power plants.
